“The body and type 1 diabetes” is the first application of the "Managing Type 1 Diabetes: A guide for kids and their families" series published by Panarea. The series consists in several interactive guides for kids with Type 1 diabetes, and their families.

Through animated graphics and easy-to-learn steps, children will learn important information about their condition. For the first time, they will have fun while learning how to monitor and manage their condition.

Max is an 8-year-old kid with Type 1 Diabetes, who learns how to take care of his diabetes. With the help of ‘Parrot’, his curious friend, and ‘Dr Phil Good’, his healthcare specialist, he guides other children through his own personal experiences and wondrous adventures.

Using an easy-to-use Portrait View, this interactive guide consists of a sequence of screens that introduce theme-oriented content organized by sections, including:
•The real symptoms;
•Facts & Myths about Diabetes;
•The Food Trip;
•What is Type 1 Diabetes?;
•Food & Insulin;
•Keeping the Balance;
•Getting Control; and
•Glossary.

The application also includes two interactive activities and an optional flashcard ‘true & false’ quiz.

This is a FREE application and it is our firm intention that future titles in the series will also remain free. If your company is interested in becoming a sponsor of this initiative, please check our website at www.panarea.com.ar/diabetes
